SEMANEXT 15MG CARTRIDGE OF 3ML INJECTION

Semanext injection is a prescription medication used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity for long-term weight management. It is indicated for adults and adolescents (12+) with obesity, and for adults with overweight who have at least one weight-related health condition. For adults with known cardiovascular disease and either obesity or overweight, it also helps reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events (cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke). This injection contains semaglutide as its active ingredient, which mimics the natural hormone GLP-1 to help regulate appetite and food intake. It activates GLP-1 receptors in the brain that help you feel full, reducing hunger and calorie intake. Semanext injection is administered once weekly, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without meals, by subcutaneous injection in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Semanext injection should not be used by people who have a personal or family history of a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or a condition called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

expand_more

The most common side effects of Semanext injection include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, dyspepsia, dizziness, abdominal distension, eructation, hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes, flatulence, gastroenteritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and nasopharyngitis.

What is Semanext injection and how does it work for weight loss?

expand_more

Semanext injection is an injectable prescription medication containing semaglutide. It is used, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, for long-term weight management in adults with obesity or overweight who also have weight-related medical conditions. It works by mimicking a natural hormone (GLP-1) that targets areas of the brain involved in controlling appetite and food intake, helping you feel fuller, reducing hunger, and leading to less food consumption and weight loss.

How is Semanext injection administered and how often?

expand_more

Semanext injection is given as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin) once a week on the same day each week. The injection sites can be the front of your thighs, the front of your waist (abdomen, keeping 2 inches away from the belly button), or your upper arm. Your healthcare provider will show you how to use this injection.

How long will I need to take Semanext injection?

expand_more

Semanext injection is intended for chronic weight management, which typically may require long-term treatment. Weight regain is common if the medication is stopped. Your doctor will discuss the appropriate duration of treatment based on your individual health and weight loss goals, as well as your tolerance to the medication.

What should I know about diet and exercise while on Semanext injection?

expand_more

Semanext injection is most effective when used in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It's not a standalone solution. Your healthcare provider or a registered dietitian can help you develop a personalised eating plan and exercise routine that complements the medication to achieve and maintain your weight loss.
