Question 1

What is Ornof Tablet used for and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

Ornof Tablet is an antibiotic combination containing ofloxacin and ornidazole, used to treat certain bacterial and parasitic infections. It may be prescribed for gastrointestinal infections such as infectious diarrhea or dysentery, and some abdominal or genital infections. It works by killing harmful microorganisms and stopping their growth so the body can clear the infection more effectively.

Question 2

What are the common side effects of Ornof Tablet?

Accepted Answer

Ornof Tablet is generally safe when taken as prescribed, but some people may experience nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, headache, heartburn, or dryness of the mouth. These effects are usually mild and improve as the body adjusts to the medicine. Stop using it and contact your doctor if you develop severe rash, breathing difficulty, persistent vomiting, or unusual weakness.

Question 3

Are there any contraindications for using Ornof Tablet?

Accepted Answer

Ornof Tablet should not be used in people who are allergic to ofloxacin, ornidazole, or other medicines from the quinolone or nitroimidazole groups of antibiotics. Always inform your doctor about any past drug allergies before starting treatment.

Question 4

How many doses of Ornof Tablet can be taken in a day?

Accepted Answer

Ornof Tablet should be taken only in the dose prescribed by your doctor. Taking more than recommended may increase the risk of side effects. Always complete the full course even if you feel better earlier.

Question 5

What should I do if I do not feel better after taking Ornof Tablet?

Accepted Answer

Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after completing the full course of Ornof Tablet. You should also seek medical advice if your symptoms worsen during treatment.

Question 6

Can I stop taking Ornof Tablet when I feel better?

Accepted Answer

No, you should not stop Ornof Tablet early even if you feel better. Stopping treatment too soon may allow the infection to return and may contribute to antibiotic resistance.

Question 7

What should I do if I miss a dose of Ornof Tablet?

Accepted Answer

If you miss a dose of Ornof Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not take an extra dose to make up for the missed one.

Accepted Answer

It is best to avoid alcohol while using Ornof Tablet because alcohol may increase side effects such as dizziness, sleepiness, or stomach discomfort.

Question 9

Accepted Answer

Ornof Tablet should be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if prescribed by a doctor. People with kidney or liver problems should also use it cautiously and under medical supervision.

Accepted Answer

Ornof Tablet usually begins working soon after it is taken, but improvement in symptoms may take a few days depending on the infection and your overall health. Always follow the full course recommended by your doctor.

Question 11

What food or medicines should I avoid while taking Ornof Tablet?

Accepted Answer

Always inform your doctor about other medicines or supplements you are taking before using Ornof Tablet. Some medicines may interact with antibiotics and affect how they work, so medical advice is important before combining treatments.
