TELMA 40 TABLET

Telma 40 tablet is an antihypertensive medication used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes. Its active ingredient is telmisartan, a member of the angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) class of drugs. The medication works by inhibiting the binding of angiotensin II, a natural body substance that constricts blood vessels and promotes the retention of water and salt. By blocking this action, Telma 40 helps relax and widen blood vessels, lowering overall pressure in the circulatory system and allowing the heart to pump blood more effectively throughout the body. Before starting treatment, it is important to inform your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease, liver impairment, or heart failure. Patients with diabetes should be particularly cautious, as telmisartan can potentially lower blood glucose levels and may require an adjustment in antidiabetic medications. Telma 40 can increase blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia), the use of potassium-rich supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes should be avoided. Side effects may include dizziness, back pain, or flu-like symptoms. Because this medication can cause lightheadedness, especially when starting the treatment or increasing the dose, you should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how the medicine affects you. This medication is strictly contraindicated during pregnancy, as it can cause severe developmental harm or death to the unborn baby. Telmikind 40 , Tazloc 40 , Telvas 40 , Telista 40 , and Eritel 40 are some other medicines that contain telmisartan as their main ingredient.
